Collection: L-Carnitine

L-carnitine is made in the body from the amino acids, lysine and methionine, and is essential for energy production. Supplementing with L-carnitine will kick-start your metabolism by helping your cells burn off fuel more quickly. In particular, L-carnitine helps you use fat as energy, so that it is not deposited on the body as excess flab.

During a workout, L-carnitine delays the breakdown of glycogen in the muscles. Glycogen is the storage form of glucose and keeping reserves in the muscles helps you feel less fatigued during exercise. It has also been shown to decrease lactic acid production and delay DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), which helps speed recovery. It also protects your cells from oxidative stress and may reduce cholesterol.
